Hey y’all! My name is TC Houston, I'm a retired US Army Chaplain (Airborne), former AZA zookeeper (reptiles), and a small-batch reptile breeder with 30+ years of experience working with reptiles. Over the years I've traveled to more than 20 countries, lived on 3 continents, and managed captive reptiles in multiple climates. All those experiences helped me develop a diversified perspective on the methods used to care for reptiles under captive conditions. In recent years my YouTube Channel (ReptileMountain.TV) has become very popular among blue tongue skink enthusiasts worldwide and therefore skinks is what I’m best known for. Even so, my deepest passion rests with Rattlesnakes of the Colorado Plateau and other small montane Crotalids. My passion for rattlesnakes started as an undergrad in zoology where I was a lab assistant at my university’s venomous snake lab. Today, I work with several uncommon or under-represented species of snakes, lizards, and tortoises including Eastern Blue Tongue Skinks, Northern Blue Tongue Skinks, Anthill Pythons, Stimson’s Pythons, locality specific Rosy Boa morphs, Angolan Pythons, and Dalmatian Tortoises. My heart is guided by a commitment to perpetual welfare advancement using evidence-based captive management practices. My breeding ethos is, thriving breeders produce thriving offspring. Reptile Mountain is also committed to ethical stewardship within the global community therefore for every $2 earned annually in profit I donate $1 to wildlife conservation, and human charities worldwide.
